A MARBLE STELE DEPICTING A BODHISATTVA PLAYING A WIND INSTRUMENT, LATE QING TO REPUBLIC
China, 1850-1930. The stone carved to depict a bodhisattva seated in royal ease on a lotus base, wearing long flowing robes and blowing into a wind instrument, flanked by celestial bands.
Condition: Extensive wear, minor losses, chipping, traces of use, soiling.
