A FINE CHAM GOLD NAGA RING DEPICTING GARUDA
Champa, c. 10th – 12th century. The band crafted in the form of two stylized naga, the mythical snake beings of the underworld and protectors of their treasure. The top of this extraordinary ring shows the face of Garuda, the legendary bird of Hindu mythology.
Condition: Excellent condition.
Provenance: A private owner, acquired from the collection of Dr. Istvan Zelnik several years ago.
