A 19th century Russian silver cup, the cylindrical form engraved with circular panels and stylised motifs, one panel monogrammed, and raised on a flared footed base, with a tall flat-top angular handle, struck marks to base, 84 standard, city mark worn and indistinct, Assay Master mark dated 1873 and a further maker's mark, height including handle 3.5 (9cm). Together with a later Russian silver jug of tapering footed form with engraved foliate scroll surround to a vacant cartouche, marked to base with double punch for Moscow 84 standard, alongside a maker's mark, with repeated city and maker's marks to inner foot, spout and handle, height 3.25 (8.5cm). Weight 7.78 ozt (241.8 grams). (2). Both appear in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing. Cup with some slight dints and knocks around foot rim. Evidence of some repair or restoration around the joins of the handle. Uneven surface to interior and pitted appearance to the exterior surface of the cup in the same area. Handle is not marked. Assay marks to base only, city mark worn and indistinct, other marks clearly legible. Mug with traces of gilding. Slight knock to foot rim. Some rubbing to assay marks but mostly clear and legible.
