An antique Augsburger type astronomical clock, the decorative gilded case of rectangular form, the pierced bell top with figural surmount, (s/d), the shaped case with decorative corner posts and enclosed engraved panels to front, back and sides, each with figural details and complicated series of dials relating to the movement of the planets and time, with fitted twin train mechanism, the whole upon an outswept base, indistinctly named, 11.5 x 7.25 (29cm x 18.25cm). Figure to top of case missing head, case heavily worn with wear and loss to detail, case impressed with possible makers detail, this is indistinct and not fully legible, mechanism does not line up with all holes, mechanism is not connected to all dials, not known if mechanism is original to case and possibly a replacement, not known if working, very dirty and heavy wear, believed to be a copy of the Augsburger clock of c1564.
