An impressive George I/II parcel gilt cream japanned musical tall case clockWilliam Kipling, London second quarter 18th century The case decorated with panels of figures in landscapes and foliate and floral ornament, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman hours and Arabic minutes, with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture to the matte center, with additional subsidiary strike/silent and chime/not chime dials within cast spandrels, the arch with name plate surmounted by two tune panels, the substantial four train movement striking on thirteen bells with twenty-six hammers and playing the musical tune on III, VI, IX and XII.
