Description Part of an estate collection of Victorian jewelry, much of which is offered in today's sale. Antique oval cabochon style beveled glass window compartment set in an unmarked gold brooch filled with a curl of light brown hair and minute seed pearl. Scattered in the hair are pieces of extremely fine twisted gold wire, some pieces worked into designs. The back side of the compartment has an engraving done in tiny cursive letters saying: "Hephzibah Heapl, obt 4 March 1855 obt '29 Philippians Chap 1 verse 21". The compartment is set into a heavy open scroll frame. Intricate work, excellent condition. About 2" long. See images for detail.
