A Butlers Victorian oak tray and stand, the rectangular tray with shaped leafy scroll carved and pierced back and side carrying handles, the mahogany and boxwood banded geometric square panels within foliate carved borders, the folding spiral turned folding 'x' shape base interspaced by rosette carved square sections, lobes and flutes, 93cm wide x 58cm deep x 90cm high.
Commissioned by Richard Assheton, first Viscount Cross, 1823-1914, Secretary of State for India July 1886-August 1892 and made in Manchester. Viscount Cross bought Eccle Riggs estate in 1865
