Description A Victorian lacquered brass 'Westminster Abbey' skeleton clock, unsigned but attributed to Evans of Handsworth, circa 1860, the twin fusee hour-striking movement with half-deadbeat escapement regulated by cylindrical bob pendulum and six spoke wheel crossings set between elaborate Gothic tracery pierced plates in the silhouette of Westminster Abbey united by seven turned pillars, the front with additional pierced arched plate applied with a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring with steel Fleur-de-Lys shaped hands over gabled twin arch doorway to apron, on moulded white marble base with rounded ends beneath glass dome cover, the clock 51cm (20ins) high; the clock and dome 71cm (28ins) high, 43cm (17ins) wide, 22cm (8.75ins) deep overall.
