The provenance of this lot includes that of the original owner, the late Richard Michel Francis. During WWII he served as a Sergeant in the US Army Air Force, and was assigned to Intelligence in the ETO (European Theater of Operations), where he received citations for his "loyalty, exemplary diligence and indefatigability in the performance of his many duties." Following the war, Richard Michel Francis became an award winning cinematographer in the motion picture industry.
