An Ormolu and Bronze Striking Mantel Clock, signed Alph Giroux, A Paris, circa 1880, case depicting a central urn with flowers and flanked with bronze cherubs reclining, base with white marble panels and floral scroll mounts, 3-3/4-inch enamel dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, twin barrel movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, backplate stamped Vincenti and numbered 409, 38cm by 42cm see illustration 11.02.20 Ormolu surfaces are faded, minor chips to the front white marble panels, left hand side marble panel with a small piece missing, dial with some chips, movement needs cleaning, strike working, with pendulum.
