A Joined Oak Six-to-Eight-Seater Gateleg Dining Table, circa 1680, with two rounded drop leaves to form an oval, on bobbin turned legs with block feet joined by a peripheral stretcher, 152cm by 177cm extended by 75cm See illustration. Size closed 63cm wide. Good colour and patina. Top with gaps in the plank top. Square section of timber spliced in, approx 7cm by 5cm. Various nail and peg marks. One side of the drop leaf has a triangular split/repair. Also some old decay/repair on the end section (see photographs). Opposing side in better condition, but a small triangular split. Underside with later batons added for strengthening. Old decay around feet, with screw added as there is a split. 120220
