A Late Victorian Mahogany Oval Extending Dining Table, late 19th century, with Joseph Fitter of Birmingham patent extending mechanism, the five original leaves with moulded edge and plain frieze, on shell carved and acanthus scrolled legs with ball and claw feet and later castors, 480cm extended by 136cm by 76cm See illustration. With leaves removed, the table measures 240cm. Wind-out mechanism in good working order. Five additional leaves a different colour to the end section. Central leaves have some scratches, some deep. D end sections in good condition. Later castors to corner legs. Central leg has a removeable block of wood used as support. 100220
