Hand carved wood with additional naturalistic materials.An exemplary piece of Native American Navajo tribal folk art, this hand carved wooden miniature loom is presented with a nearly completed American flag in the process of being made. The sculpture also features decorative balls of yarn, a wooden weave comb and the traditional sheepskin rug the weaver would sit upon. An American flag with a wooden pole is planted in the corner for additional patriotic effect. A similar miniature Navajo loom is part of the collection of the Peabody Museum at Harvard University.
