Two of the scrolls feature a female Guanyin in elaborate robe, sash, jewels, and headpiece; on one scroll she held a jar, while she held a willow branch on the other. The third scroll depicts the Guanyin as a male, his hair in ushnisha with a lotus flower on his left hand held up in front of his chest. All Guanyins on the scrolls have elongated earlobes, half-closed eyes, marked with urnas, and three folds of skin on their necks, and standing on double lotus pods.
