The Nephrite carved in form of a horse laying on its foot in relaxing position facing on its right shoulder, while a monkey climbed on right hip. Displayed upon carved hardwood stand.
The jade shows white in color, even tone translucent with sporadic golden russet inclusions.

The form of monkey (hou) on top (Shang) of a horse (ma) referred as MaShang FengHou, May you immediately be appointed a high ranking position. The horse (ma) is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac and symbolizes speed, power and perseverance.
The horse is usually depicted as the bearer of good things.
