Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white peacock jar. The shape having thick potted body, large and sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with opening, raised on round flat base. All reserved in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. The main body adorned with several peacock flying above rocky, flowers blooms, foliage, amidst ruyi clouds, vapor and mountain, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The exterior and the neck decorated with flowers blooms interspersed with foliage and scrolling tendril. The shoulder festooned with geometric pattern and flowers blooms, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. The neck decorated with archaic tendril and flowers blooms, enclosed with triple fine blue rings lines. And the foot base rim decorated with geometric petals pattern. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
