Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Wanli wucai dragon round lidded porcelain box. The porcelain covered box is sturdily potted in a compressed globular form, with a slightly domed lid. The exterior decorated by applying a variety of five-colored pigments creates bold opaque hand-painting, of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames and vapors, with face and upper right appendage outstretched toward the heavens. Vigorous dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst flames against cobalt blue color scrolling cumulus clouds. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted atop a beautiful white under glaze. Framed behind auspicious patterned ribbons and bold blue lines.
