19th C. Pair of Chinese Zitan master chairs, sizeable square platform serves as the basis for ornately carved backrest, and arm rails. Depicted is a central inscrolling vine pattern placed upon the splats frontal surface. Just below the seat the perimeter is emblazoned with fine chisel work from a master craftsman. This chair stands on four sturdy legs that are braced by three angular beams and a footrest. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.
Over all in EXCELLENT condition. Some stress of wear. Natural wood imperfection, wood joint mark, minor scratches and dents. Normal consider ages and wears.
