19th C. Chinese Zitan square table with beautiful grain structure. Wide square frame with a thumb-grooved edge above the waist. Connecting each leg is a rectangular plaque apron that is supported by lotus bloom ring ornamentation that connects the angular apron to the underside of the table. The frame is supported on four prominent angular legs with flat footings. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.
Over all in EXCELLENT condition. Some stress of wear. Natural wood imperfection, wood joint mark, minor scratches and dents. Normal consider ages and wears.
