PROVENANCE: Property of Robert J Braidwood by descent; Acquired in 1961, from Wolf's Antique furniture & China, Coldwater, Michigan.
Stoutly potted with shallow, rounded sides gently tapered toward flori-form lobed petal rim, incised and decorated with a central medallion with uptala, the night lotus and cockscomb blossom growing on twisted stems, within a triple line border conforming the cavetto, before bracket-lobed mouth rim, covered with a light celadon-green glaze, the underside base with an unglazed circle burnt orange-oxidized in the firing with dark brunt ring of kiln process.
