Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong blue and white lotus porcelain cups. The porcelain potted with a shallow deep body, of a shallow vessel, with a straight opening lip, raised on small round slightly concave footing. All reserved in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The Exterior decorated with Lotus flori petals pile up throne on the lower belly and auspicious pattern on the upper mouth rim, enclosed with double fine blue rings. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
