RARE, Chinese Warring States Period ritual ceremony attributes inside a five tiers wooden box. Comprising :
A carved chicken bone stone coin disk, pi, with geometrical scrolling pattern.
A carved olive-brown color jade disc, pi, with zoomorphic motif, having dark brown inclusions.
A green jade talisman, in shape of a coin disk with handle.
Jade pendant, carved jade ritual blade with russet inclusions, and creme-teal jade ring
A book, Olive-brown jade ring and jade pendant.

The ritual attributes fitted into five tiers wooden box, with creme teal inner cushion and some lettering inscriptions.

Dimension (Largest): 5-1/2"Diam. Box Dimension: 11"H x 8-7/8"W

Provenance:
Private collection of Mr. Chen YueQuan, born 1906. A Chinese Immigrant, Prominent businessman and private Asian antiques collector in South East Asia. Also well known as ‘Eyeglasses Old Man’. During 1950 he was one of the wealthiest family of the Chen's Clan. He supported the 5th renovation of Sam Poo Kong Temple Complex, the oldest Buddhist and Taoist Temple in Semarang, Indonesia. His relationship with local government including overseas ambassadors gave him a chance to receive and or collecting numerous precious arts and artifacts. During the Indonesian Revolution Riot in 1998 many Chinese fled the country, including some of Mr. Chen’s Family. They migrated overseas. Mr Chen passed away in early year of 2000.

LOT NOTES:
According to Huangchao Liqi Tushi, (Illustrations of Imperial Ritual Objects) compiled in the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the cangbi (sky-blue jade disc) was placed on the main altar to worship Heaven while the huangcong (yellow jade tablet) was placed on the main altar to worship Earth; the gui (an elongated tablet) was placed both in the taishe (Temple for the Virtue of Land) and sheji (Temple of the Gods of Land and Grain): the gui placed in the taishe was mostly white with yellow stripes, symbolizing the virtue of land, while the gui placed in the sheji was celadon, symbolizing a good harvest. In addition, a jade tablet and jade cup, respectively, were placed on the main and second altar of the sheji.
