Description An Antique Chinese Orange Ground and White Floral Porcelain Bowl with Provenance. Rich floral design on the inside with geometrical designs on the rim. The underside has floral designs - one in every cardinal direction. Underside with red underglaze TONGZHI mark. Ca. Qing Dynasty, 19th Century. Size 3 1/4 X 3 1/4. Provenance: Collection of Edward Hyers Clayton (1886-1946). American writer and missioner. E.H. Clayton and his wife were missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in charge of Wayland Academy, a missionary school in Hangzhou, China from 1912 to 1942. E.H. Clayton wrote a book Heaven Below based on his living experience in China.
