Guangzhou, Late Qing Dynasty, Daoguang Marks8-1/8" x 22-1/4" x 14-3/4" Oval heavy porcelain bowl with two handles, hand painted, hand enamelled and slip decorated in polychrome depicting The Thirteen Factories, the area of Guangzhou to which China's Western trade was restricted from 1757a€“1842; decorated in polychrome with carp fish and sea vegetation on the inside; lapet and diaper design borders on the rim and around foot, gilt highlights; handles gilt finished and decorated with sculpted blossoming lotus flowers; fine craquelure to glaze. Marked in over glaze iron red with Daoguang (1821-1850) seal mark on the bottom. Provenance: private collection, Sewickley, PA.
