Description A framed Tibetan thangka dating from the Ming Dynasty. The thangka depicts Buddha making the "Touching Earth" or bhumisparsa mudra and holding a medicine jar while seated on a lotus pedestal. It is mounted on a silk backing. Dimensions: sight size- 13 3/4 inches tall X 10 inches wide; 34.9 cm tall X 25.4 cm wide. Frame- 18 inches tall X 13 3/4 inches wide; 45.7 cm tall X 34.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition Report The thangka has been cut down, and is badly worn and threadbare with large areas of loss. The back of the frame is loose.
