1794 Letter to Right Hon. Milady Winn at Nostel (Nostel Priory) regarding important named French books. This item comprises a complete letter written in 1794 in French to Lady Winn at Nostel now known has Nostell Priory. Sir Rowland Winn married Sabine d'Hervart in 1761 while on a Grand Tour and Sabine became Lady Winn. The Winns built a library at the Priority in mid 1760's which features prominently today. This letter, written by "Delongchamps" refers to the acquisition of various books by him including very important named French works. A rough translation of this letter is included with this lot togetehr with a photocopy of a painting of the Winns in Nostell Priory library painted circa 1767/1768 and National Trust notes about the house.?
