Complete Burmese (Myanmarese) Buddhist Manuscript with older Burmese script dated 1874 in an unknown language (Burmese Pali?).
Dark brown, almost black, covers, with incised lines on one cover (perhaps for an attachment?).
24 leaves, on thick indigenous paper (mulberry?), with writing on both sides of each leaf, as well as writing on the inside covers. Handwriting in black ink.
Five illustrations in red and black, including a man drawing a bow, a hanged man, and three deities and mythological figures.
Tables in red and black, isolated, or attached to figure drawings.
Exquisitely scripted by an artistic hand
Erosion along the inner margins (one cover virtually detached); stained and soiled from use. edgewear present.
I am unable to read the text but was told that the date mentioned corresponds to Julian date of 1874.
