Description A rare pair of Emile Galle cobalt blue porcelain and Limoges enamel portrait vases. France, late 19th century. Elaborately gilded to a deep cobalt ground with gilt highlights throughout, with central Limoges enamel roundel medallions to each Marked E.G. for Emile Galle. Galle was a mainly a glass maker. Only a few examples of his porcelain / earthenware have been produced, including this pair of vases. Good condition. Ready to place. Normal wear consistent with age and use. 15"" high x 12.5"" wide x 4"" deep. D?_D?_mile GallD?_Dμ?? was a French artist who worked in glass, and is considered to be one of the major forces in the French Art Nouveau movement.
