Nicely illuminated genre scene of families sitting outside their residence at sunset, reminiscent of the Hudson River School. Nicholson received a gold medal at the American Art Society for a painting titled Harvest Field in Berks County in 1902, Pennsylvania being where he spent a good portion of his life.
