Tadeusz Styka, ceramic urn for Huguette Clark, Tadeusz Styka (Polish, 1889-1954), hand-built glazed pottery, central raised insignia initialed "HC" (Huguette Clark), with incised inscription to underside reading "A mon adorable eleve, son Maitre T.S" (To my adorable pupil, his Master T.S), 7"h x 11"l x 5"wProvenance: Estate of Huguette ClarkNotes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty.
