Two-part construction in softwood. Partially carved and painted in colour on three sides. The carved and painted cabinet piece standing on four turned, ebonised legs with a crossbar. The straight, contoured frame with two drawers. Above which, two doors covering a prospect with two compartments and another seven drawers. The overhanging cornice at the top with several sweeping curves and a central monogram cartouche, flanked by two angels and the year "M.DCC.LX". The doors featuring two depictions referring to the tanner's craft and attributes, along with the motto (tr.) "The butchers must trot and the tanners must scrape so that the shoemakers have wares to sell". The bands and bolts in iron. The brass lock and fittings partially gilt. Showing traces of age and use. The paintwork restored in places. The stand probably of later date. Dimensions 100 x 40 x 196 cm.
