A large Bizen bowl, by Kaneshige T?y? (1896-1967). Okayama prefecture. Around 1960Of flat shape, the light pinkish-beige-coloured sherd with an irregular hiire spot and an incised zig-zag stripe at the well, and hidasuki stripes at the base. To the base kamajirushi To. Original wooden box, the inscription on the lid reading Bizen hidasuki hirabachi, signed T?y? z? and sealed T?y?.Kaneshige T?y? (1896-1967) was born into a family of potters in Imbe, Bizen, Okayama prefecture. In the 1930s he studied the various aspects of Bizen ceramics intensively, the ash glaze and the hidasuki technique. He was a member of what is known as the "Momoyama revival movement" of the 1930s and is credited with having rediscovered the techniques used to produce the wabi tea wares. He was in contact with many other potters, visited their kilns and also produced Shino and Karatsu ware. Gelbes Einschlagtuch aus Baumwolle (ukon nuno).Kaneshige T?y? (1896-1967) wurde in eine T?pferfamilie in Inbe, Bizen, Pr?fektur Okayama geboren. Intensiv besch?ftigte er sich in den 1930er-Jahren mit den verschiedenen Aspekten der Bizen-Keramik, der Aschenanflugglasur und der hidasuki-Technik und wurde so zum Erneuerer der Bizen-Keramik im 20.
