A Japanese Seto Stoneware Dish with Inscription -?Edo?Period.?The underglaze decoration comprises a simple floral pattern as well as two Japanese characters (not translated) and two small circular designs. The contrasting chocolate-brown and cream colours are very pleasing. The underside is decorated with three broad brown bands. Diameter 21cm (8.25 inches). Late?Edo?period (1603 - 1868).
