The design featuring a dragon in clouds in repoussé work with fine chased work in-between. The original use of these “buntal” plates was to adorn the opposite ends of pillows or bolsters for the wedding bed. Width 11.5cm.
Provenance: from the well-known H. G. Beasley Collection. Harry Geoffrey Beasely assembled his collection between 1895 & 1939. Following his death in 1939 the collection was widely dispersed with many pieces going to the British Museum, such was the quality of the collection.
