X] TIARA PART IN MARQUETRY OF KINGFISHER FEATHERS, TIAN-TSUI 點翠
China, Qing Dynasty, 19th century period
It consists of a band of fabric with two fasteners to be tied at the back of the skull. This band is applied with cut metal pieces describing a mirror-like decoration of phoenixes and chrysanthemums centred on a fan of radiant feathers. Various pearls, including coral, are set here and there. Inlaid kingfisher feathers (feathers are missing only silver elements, tears in the fabric).
