French Empire style gilt bronze mantel clock, 19th century, having a Maenad holding a libation cup over a trophy containing a herm of the goddess Athena and a lit torch, in her other hand she holds a lyre and stands next to a rectangular case having a white enamel clock dial with Roman numerals and a chased bezel above an applied floral swag and bow suspended from a pinecone staff, the whole resting on a rectangular stepped base fronted by grotesques playing instruments and holding a floral swag between them, above a gadrooned band, the whole resting on chased ball feet, having no apparent mark, 14"h x 11"w x 4.25"d.
