concentric circles but later, Wanli period (1573-1619), circular with barbed rim, painted with two figures on horseback emerging from behind a cliff face, beside a lake, the rim painted with lotus flowers, scrolling vines and auspicious objects, the underside with sixteen lotus plants, 11 1/8in. (28.25cm.) diameter, chip to rim.
* Condition: Chip to underside of rim with small hairline from base of chip. Some glaze flaking around the rim.
