ZHU DINGXIN (1868-1937) Official Career of Wang Wenshao Album of 12 loose leaves Each leaf measures 47.8 x 41.5 cm. (18 7?8 x 16 3?8 in.) A total of seven seals of the artist NOTE: Zhu Dingxin, born in Wenzhou, is an artist for paintign flowers and birds and ladies. In the late Qing Dynasty, he served as the county magistrate of Liyang County, Jiangsu Province. At the beginning of the Republic of China, he served as the director of the Yongjia Foreign Broadcasting Bureau.
Wang Wenshao (1832-1908), was born in Renhe County, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He served several key positions in the government during the late imperial period. During the Boxer Rebellion, he helped to escort the imperial family to Xi’an. He retired in 1907 and passed away in 1908.
