A LONGQUAN CéLADON-GLAZED VASE WITH SILVER NECK AND COVER

Robustly potted, of baluster shape with an ovoid body rising to a cylindrical neck, the body moulded with scrolling flowers on a continuous undulating stem, covered overall in a rich unctuous bluish green glaze, the Indonesian silver cover in the shape of a lotus flower.
Provenance: the collection of a Dutch noblewoman lived in Indonesia, acquired before 1975.
A similar vase is in the British Museum in London (inv. 1933.013.4); another one is in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (inv. FE. 186-1974).
