Flanged rim, the centre with a decoration of a conchshell surrounded by leaves inside a circular band with pointed decoration.
Provenance: Acquired before 1975.
The talam trays were used by priest to place ritual objects or offerings.
Two talam trays are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (see M. Lenner – S. Kossak, The Lotus Transcendent. Indian and Southeast Asian Art from the Samuel Eilenberg Collection, New York 1991, pp. 179-180, nn. 179-180).
