A famille rose jar and a grisaille decorated compressed-globular bowl
Republic PeriodThe first of compressed baluster form, the exterior depicting a landscape with deer and cranes both staring at a butterfly in the air amidst chrysanthemums and peony, all auspicious symbols of longevity, wealth and honour, wood cover and stand; the other of wide alms bowl form, decorated with a scholar's retreat, the interior painted with two goldfish framed in a foliate form, jade-inset wood cover. The largest: 25.5cm diam. (4).
