Dated by inscription 12th year of Guangxu (1887)The body cast in high relief with sea creatures on a wave pattern ground, the base with a six-line inscription, the cover reticulated with the Eight Trigrams, all on an openwork tripod stand. 54cm (21.1/4in) high including stand. (3).

Provenance: From the Collection of Major Geoffrey Frank Jackson (1922-2018). Major Jackson served in the 3rd Battalion 9th Gurkha Rifles at Jhikar gacha Ghat and subsequently for the Chindit Operations in Burma. In March 1946 he returned to Singapore and was transferred to Malay Command HQ.
