A SMALL BRONZE 'BOY' PAPERWEIGHT, LATE MING / EARLY QING DYNASTY, cast smiling and dressed in a loose jacket and trousers, the head shaved except for a single double topknot, seated with hands on a large pomegranate.

A similar figure from the Water, Pine and Stone Retreat Collection was sold in Sotheby's Hong Kong, 8th April 2013, Lot 161, and other examples in the British Museum are illustrated in Jessica Rawson, Chinese Jades from the Neolithic to the Qing, London, 1995, p. 379, fig. 1, which includes one almost identical to the present lot.
