The body of bowl painted with four medallions, each enclosing a character, reserved on a ground of lotus scrolls and Buddhist symbols, all set between a band of scrolls around the rim and petal lappets around the foot, base bearing four character reign mark. Height: 2 3/4 in (6.7 cm) Diameter: 5 1/8 in (13.0 cm) Provenance: From the Estate of Late Mr. David Wong, San Francisco. Mr. David Wong was an accomplished civil engineer by training and worked in public sector from 1960s to 1990s. An avid collector of Chinese ceramics, jades, and wood carvings, he acquired most pieces in California and Asia prior to 2000s.
