shaped vase with circular rim on a cylindrical neck and tapered cylindrical body, bearing paper label inscribed 'From Roman Tomb, Ventimiglia, seen dug out by J.E.S. 1888', 16cm high, an iridescent green/ yellow tinted footed bowl of circular form with folded over rim, two applied scroll handles and applied string foot, 12cm wide x 3.5cm high, an iridescent green tined beaker/ cup, 11cm high x 6.5cm diameter, together with remaining fragments, small water pots and circular bowl with vertical ribbed detail, (qty). Provenance: James Ewing Somerville (1843-1923) who had a second home in Menton, South of France and would visit Ventimiglia in Northern Italy to attend "Roman sales" in the period circa 1880-1900.
