19TH CENTURY"The bird cage is finely constructed in square form with tapered sides using thin strips of huali joined by wider sections, with a movable opening to one side. The interior is fitted with two perches, a wood bird feeder and two porcelain bird feeders, one decorated in underglaze blue with flowerheads on a dense scroll and the other in iron-red enamels with a dragon, an apocryphal four-character Yongzheng mark in underglaze blue to the base. The bird cage has a gilt-splashed bronze hook for suspension, with an indistinct impressed mark to the shaft.This lot contains endangered species material.
