A polychrome painting of Lord Shiva seated in lotus position with five faces (Ishana, Tatpurusha, Aghora, Vamadeva and Sadyojatha) representing the five basic elements; crescent moons above his third eyes, dressed in a tiger's skin with a leopard skin over his shoulders, holding his attributes in his outstretched hands; before him an elaborately dressed lady, possibly representing his wife, Parvati, kneeling on a large lotus flower. 7.9 grams, 28 x 20.8cm (11 x 8 1/4"). From the Sidhu family collection; previously the property of the current owner?s late grandfather, chief scoutmaster for Kenya.
