Sterling Silver Box with Napoleonic Medal
20th century, American, of short cylindrical form, the fitted lid inset with an 1810 silver medal by Claude-Antoine Mercie (1751-1812), struck by the Paris mint and issued by the city of Lyon in commemoration of the marriage of Napoleon and Marie Louise, the obverse with dual profiles within laurel wreaths, the reverse with an allegorical figure of Lyon.
