Three Pieces of Jacob Petit and Other Paris Porcelain
second quarter 19th century, all with green grounds, including an exceptional quill holder with a dragon-molded handle, pierced rim and polychrome panels of flowers and birds, h. 5-3/4", w. 12-1/2", d. 8-1/2", a peacock encrier with a tail pierced for quills, h. 7-3/4", w. 6-3/4", d. 4-3/4", each signed "J.P." on the bottom in underglaze blue, and a scent bottle decorated with flowers, attributed to Jacob Petit, h. 5-3/4", w. 4-3/4", d. 4-3/4".

Condition Report **The dragon quill holder with restorations to the shell and the top of the dragon's mouth. There is a 3/4" triangular flake to the rear of the pierced gallery and two restored areas to the pierced gallery, one about 2" long and one 1-1/2" long. The peacock encrier is missing the ink pot and sander and has minor scattered rubbing to the gilt. The scent bottle with significant losses to the lower edge of the stopper. There is restoration and regilding to the entire pierced gallery and regilding to the foot.
