third quarter 19th century, attributed to J. & J. W. Meeks, New York, the marble top of tortoise form over a pierced foliate- and scroll-carved apron centered by a cabochon, on cabriole legs joined by serpentine stretchers centered by a finial.

Condition Report **In good condition. Sturdy. No sign of damage, carving losses or delamination. Refinished at one time with good, rich color. The marble is a replacement with one small underside chip, approximately the size of a fingernail, to one corner.
